Dwayne Johnson no longer wants to use real weapons on film set after Halyna Hutchins death: “My heart was broken” | Movie

“I can’t speak for others, but I just want to make it clear that all films under my name will be made without real weapons,” Johnson told Variety. “We’re moving to rubber guns and with proper mounting, make sure it looks real. I’m not going to worry about the cost of that.”

“I love the film industry,” Johnson continues. “There are safety protocols that we take very seriously. But accidents happen. And when something like this happens, I think the wisest and the smartest thing to do is take a break and re-examine how you move forward and work together again.”

“My heart was broken,” Johnson said of the death of camerawoman Halyna Hutchins. “My thoughts go out to her family and everyone on set. I knew Alec for a very long time.”

Dwayne Johnson can be admired from November 5 in the action film ‘Red Notice’ on Netflix. He is joined by Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.
