The goals came in the second half.
Saturday’s game day in NB I ended with the Diósgyőr-Ferencváros match. The previous week, DVTK lost 7-0 at the home of Újpest. After the serious fiasco, the Diósgyőr ultras announced that they will not be cheering the team on site for the remaining matches of the season. Thanks to this, FTC fans often won the vocal duel during the match, not surprisingly, but towards the end, the home fans were already louder, which was not surprising…
No goals were scored in the first half. The closest Kodro came to scoring, but in the 38th minute, the post bounced off him, and the rebound was in front of Sevikyan, but his attempt was blocked by the home team. The result did not change for a long time in the second half, and then the ice was broken in the 76th minute. Then Dániel Gera took advantage of a disturbance in front of the goal, the header of the player from Díosgyőr ended up on the right side of the goal. Before the goal, Zachariassen tried to free him, but he kicked the ball to one of his teammates, and in the end Gera benefited from this.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 88th minute, when Levente Szabó’s header went over the goal line. None of the nets were rattled until the final whistle, so the home team managed to make amends.
In the last round, Ferencváros will host Újpest, while DVTK will visit Fehérvár at home. It should not be forgotten that Fradi will play the cup final against Paks in the Puskás Arena on Wednesday.
