Dutchman Van den Belt will play for Castellón on loan from Feyenoord

Castellón, Aug 1 (EFE).- Dutch midfielder Thomas van den Belt will play next season for Castellón on loan from Feyenoord, the club he comes from, the Castellón club announced on Thursday.

Castellón coach Dick Schreuder is the great supporter of the Dutch midfielder who trained at PEC Zwolle, a club with which they both won promotion to the Eredivise two seasons ago and where the player scored 16 goals from his midfield position.

Van den Belt is “a versatile midfielder who has spent most of his career at his hometown club, PEC Zwolle, from 2012 to 2023. In the 2020-2021 season, the Dutchman made his debut in the Eredivisie, where he played 39 games in two seasons in the top flight of Dutch football,” Castellón said.

The Castalia club adds that “his good work led him to Feyenoord in the summer transfer market of 2023, with whom he played nine league games and one Dutch Super Cup game, as well as making his Champions League debut in a match against Celtic.”

Van den Belt is the seventh signing this summer for their return to the Second Division after the arrival of wingers Brian Cipenga, Alex Calatrava and Kenneth Mamah, striker Mats Seuntjens, goalkeeper Amir Abedzadeh and full-back Jetro Willems. EFE
