Symptoms
Dengue fever can make you very sick, such as a high fever, vomiting, and muscle and joint pain, but infected people are usually sick again after a week. A small number of infections are more serious and can even be life-threatening.
The infected Dutch tourist had been showing symptoms since 2 August. After her vacation, it became clear after an examination that the woman had dengue fever. It is not known how the woman is doing now.
