According to the travel organization, there is a threat of ‘fundamentally unfair competition’ in the tourism sector. The company refers to Turkish holiday airlines such as Pegasus and Sun Express, which often operate daily flights between the Netherlands and Turkey in the near future.
“They are not getting in the way, and we are increasingly seeing consumers who would like to book a holiday to Turkey with us, move to these airlines for a single flight, and then book the hotel elsewhere,” it sounds irritated.
The travel company emphasizes that the travel industry is one of the industries hit hardest by the corona crisis. In March, the cabinet promised to come up with specific compensation measures.
“To date, this commitment has not been fulfilled,” notes Corendon. “Now that we can start slowly again as a travel world, it is all the more poignant to note that the start-up to important holiday destinations such as Turkey is apparently possible for Turkish holiday pilots, but not for Corendon, which tries to be very careful, also in the communication to her customers, to restart her activities. ”
Corendon will start the conversation in the coming days, partly in response to their ‘unexpectedly fierce response from the cabinet’, according to them. On that basis, the company will make a final decision on the holiday flights to Turkey.
