Fighting aggressive prostate cancer, Louis van Gaal said in a television interview that he underwent 25 radiotherapy treatments before having surgery a few weeks ago, and that he will only know on the 19th whether the intervention was successful.
“How am I? Well, I had surgery two or three weeks ago”, began by explaining the 72-year-old Dutch coach, who left the technical command of the Germany national team after the World Cup in Qatar. “They tried to get everything in order, I won’t bore you with the details, but now I have to wait and see,” he added.
The coach hopes to regain his autonomy. “On September 19th I’ll go back there and everything will be decided. Maybe a miracle has happened and I can go to the bathroom alone again…”
