Dutch teenager arrested in Greece for abusing a 9-year-old girl

A 17-year-old Dutch boy has been arrested in Greece for allegedly sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl, Greek media reports. The girl, also Dutch, was allegedly abused in her mother’s house.

The boy knows the family and for this reason he stayed at their house, writing Greek media. After the girl’s mother went to the police, the boy allegedly tried to flee. He was arrested on January 3 near Thessaloniki. He was carrying a bladed weapon when he was arrested.

The boy is still trapped. He denies having abused the girl.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance to those involved.
