Dutch stranded report en masse for repatriation Inland

Minister Blok (Foreign Affairs) reports on Friday morning that there are 19,000 registrations at the special reporting point of the ministry for stranded Dutch people. Meanwhile, there has been a first repatriation flight to the Canary Islands this week to pick up people, says Minister Blok. A second flight follows Friday

“We have now planned flights to many countries,” said Blok. “Like Panama, Suriname and Bali. And we are still in talks with more countries to get landing rights. ”

This is not always easy everywhere. “There are many countries where it is difficult,” Blok confirms. “I often call myself. It is often difficult, but we are committed here to get people home safely. ”

It may take a long time for some people to be picked up. “I want to be honest: the Dutch are a traveling people around the world and often in difficult places. I cannot rule out that people are in countries where it is difficult and will take a long time. Then our call is: make sure you find shelter. ”
