Dutch start-up makes pavement tile for wireless charging of e-bikes – IT Pro – News

The Dutch company Tiler comes with a pavement tile that can be used to charge electric bicycles wirelessly. The start-up has received an investment to further develop and market the product.

With the pavement tile developed by Tiler, electric bicycles can be charged wirelessly if they are equipped with the necessary standard. In addition, the start-up comes with accompanying fleet management software, which shows which bicycles are being charged and can make reservations or make payments. This is useful for companies that offer rental bicycles or scooters, among other things.

Tiler has announced that an amount of 250,000 euros has been received for the further development of the charging tile. A test has now been carried out with a prototype of the pavement tile, which would have been successful. The next step is to place a charging tile at Rotterdam Ahoy.

Scaling up production should start around the summer period. Subsequently, the intention is that the first commercially available charging tiles will come on the market in September. Tiler is a spin-off from TU Delft and was established in October.
