The controversial Dutch seismologist, Frank Hoogerbietz, renewed his warning on Saturday of a strong earthquake that could reach a magnitude of 8.5 on the Richter scale during the next few hours, and that it will be followed by other tremors that could reach a magnitude of 6 between September 26 and 28.
The Geological Service SSGEOS, to which the Dutch scientist belongs, published a post in which it explained: “The conjunction of Mars, Mercury and Jupiter on September 22 could lead to a strong earthquake later on September 23 or 24.”
After considering his latest predictions, he decided Controversial Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbietz Clarifying confusion about his tsunami predictions. He tweeted on the X platform, saying: “There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation regarding my previous analysis and predictions. I will clarify this in the next update, which should be available this afternoon.”
In a previous response to his platform on the same topic, he explained that “Hoogrebets did not expect a tsunami to occur in the period from September 19 to 21. He put the Morocco earthquake in historical perspective and talked about the general threat off the coast of Portugal. In the forecast part of the video, he mentioned areas in the Pacific Ocean but did not “Tsunami mentions.”
The Dutch seismologist has sparked a lot of controversy over the past few days, especially after it turned out that he had predicted a major earthquake days before the Moroccan earthquake, which occurred at dawn on September 9 and caused the death and injury of thousands. The 7-magnitude earthquake struck the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco about two weeks ago, claiming the lives of about 3,000 people and causing injury and displacement of thousands. This earthquake is the most massive in terms of death toll in the North African country since 1960 and the strongest the country has witnessed in more than a century.
A few days ago, Hoogrebets came out with a terrifying warning, predicting strong seismic activity during the period from September 19 to 21, indicating that it is likely that the seismic activity will reach a peak of 6 to 7 degrees.
Until now, there has been nothing new in his predictions, which he always discloses through his account on “X” (formerly Twitter), attaching to his tweets video bulletins of the Geological Service to which SSGEOS belongs, for explanation and analysis.
However, what is new in his latest warning is his specification of the place expected to witness the strong earthquake and his mention of the possibility of a tsunami occurring as a result of that earthquake.
Hogrebetz said in that bulletin: “It will likely not be long until a larger earthquake occurs. If you are near the coast of Portugal, Spain or Morocco, you should be aware of the danger that lurks on the coast. There may be seismic activity.” Really big…if that happens, it will create a tsunami and you need to be aware of that.”
The controversial scientist pointed to two conjunctions: the Sun-Mercury-Uranus on the morning of the 19th, followed shortly after by the Sun-Earth-Neptune, noting the importance of that last conjunction, noting, saying: “In the worst case scenario, we could see an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 on Earth.” Richter scale, which of course depends on stress levels in the Earth’s crust.
He pointed out that it is possible that there will be a larger seismic event around the 20th, give or take a day, stressing by saying: “I think that the period from the 19th to the 21st (yesterday, Thursday) is more important because of the convergence of the terrain of the planets and the moon,” stressing by saying that Unfortunately, these natural disasters cannot be avoided, wishing his followers safety.
Al-Arabiya.net published Hogrebets’ predictions immediately after it was published, and the news was widely circulated, and perhaps this is what prompted Hogrebetz to tweet, saying: “I did not say that there will be a tsunami next week. My explanation aims only to raise the level of public awareness,” which is what It prompts us to ask whether the controversial scientist made a mistake in analyzing his theory? Or did he exaggerate his expectations this time by determining the strength, time, location, and repercussions of the earthquake in causing the tsunami?!
Scientists insist that there is no way to predict the occurrence of earthquakes and earthquakes. Rather, geologists and seismologists reject the theory on which Hogrebets relies, which links the movement and alignment of the planets to the occurrence of earthquakes.
