The 19-year-old Sz is from Nyíregyháza Bernadette was stabbed to death with dozens of wounds back in February 2009 in the Netherlands, in the Red Light District of Amsterdam. The local police have now recovered the files on the murder of a Hungarian sex worker 15 years ago, and they hope to solve the investigation with the help of a hologram.
The Dutch police drew attention to the case again on their website, as they believe there are people who may know more about the girl’s death.
The authority called the hologram solution a final, final effort.
A life-size hologram of the young victim appears in the window of a building in the area, and the girl asks “herself” to help catch her killer.
“We try to confront the victims in such cases, so that the perpetrators know who they are doing something to. The hologram, on the other hand, is a new solution,” said Anne Dreijer-Heemskerk, one of the investigators of the unsolved cases.
The police, of course, contacted the victim’s family before developing the hologram.
In addition, videos from the scene of the murder are shown, but posters have also been placed in the area and leaflets have been distributed. In fact, a 30,000-euro tracking fee was set.
On the police side, he also mentioned that
Betty started working as a sex worker in the Red Light District at the age of 18, until her son was born. Although she worked during her pregnancy, she took a short break after giving birth. Soon after, however, he went back to work. Three months after birth, he was stabbed to death. His little son was placed in a Dutch foster family.
The police then arrested a 46-year-old man, but in the end they had to release him because there was not enough evidence against him, writes the TV2 tenyek.hu.
