Dutch podcast maker Dag en Nacht Media is taken over by Danish company – Image and sound – News

Dag en Nacht Media, one of the largest podcast publishers in the Netherlands, is being acquired by the Danish company Podimo. This is a Danish podcast subscription service. The Danish company will soon also introduce a subscription form in the Netherlands.

It is unknown what amount the Danes pay for Day and Night Media. Co-founder Tim de Gier tells the NOS that this income is necessary. “We just need money to put on new shows. This partnership makes it possible. Podimo needed content, so it was a good match,” he says.

Podimo will, among other things, offer podcasts and content that can also be found on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Podcast; these are largely free to listen to because of the advertisements present. From next month, Podimo will also come up with an exclusive offer for 5 euros per month. Which podcasts will fall under the subscription and which will remain available for free will have to be revealed in the coming month.

Day and Night Media employs about twenty people. The company started in 2016 and now calls itself a ‘podcast publisher, advertising network and creative agency’. The company claims to have more than 60 podcasts in its network, which together account for more than 8 million listens per month.

The following podcasts are part of Day and Night, among others: Man man man, Mr. Big, De Willem podcast, Young investing, All history ever, Really happened, Reliable sources, The red lantern, Murder cast, A podcast about media and The University of the Netherlands.
