In an accident during a jeep safari in the Portuguese Algarve, three Dutch people were injured, two of them seriously, Portuguese media reported. A French woman about 30 years old was killed in the accident. The jeep ended up in a ravine, near the town of Alte, for unknown reasons.
A total of seven passengers were injured, five of them seriously. Portuguese media report that it concerns a Dutch woman of 46 years, a ten-year-old Dutch child, a German girl and a French boy, both 15 years old, and a French man of 41.
The two slightly injured are a Dutch man and the Portuguese driver of the jeep.
The accident took place on Friday afternoon in a difficult to reach area, according to Portuguese media. The victims had to be removed from the area on foot. 59 rescuers and a helicopter were involved in the operation.
