PostNL will release new stamps later this month on which Dutch people in traditional costume can be seen. It concerns traditional clothing from various regions, including Zeeland, the Veluwe and Volendam.
The design of the stamps is by Larissa Rosvaenge.
The images were created by the Anglo-Dutch artist Jimmy Nelson. He photographed Dutch people from young to old for his book Between the Sea and the Sky. In it he portrays twenty Dutch communities in their own environment and with traditional costumes from that region.
It concerns men and women of all ages. For example, the youngest is only three years old, while the oldest is well into his eighties.
The stamps will be available from January 25 and are suitable for letters of up to 20 grams that are sent within the Netherlands.
