Squatters cannot be evicted

Barcelona – Since ‘corona’ it has been forbidden in Spain to evict squatters or vulnerable tenants – even if they do not pay their rent. In fact, owners of squatted buildings are obliged to continue to pay for gas, electricity and electricity – even if their ‘tenants’ do not pay a cent themselves. If they don’t, they are punishable. Brigitte van Eijden – an entrepreneur in Mallorca – also lost her apartment for more than two years.
