It’s official since Wednesday: Mark Flekken will no longer wear the SC Freiburg jersey for the new season. A move by the Dutch goalkeeper to England’s Brentford FC had been in the offing for some time. So now there was the announcement of the transfer.
Flekken has signed a contract with Brentford until 2027. The change is made possible by an exit clause, which according to the media should be in the range of 13 million euros.
Flekken came to Breisgau from MSV Duisburg in 2018. In the five years he played 96 competitive games for the SCF. His successor has already been chosen and comes from within the company: His name is Noah Atubolu (21).
