We had to wait a while, but Black Widow is finally hitting theaters. The film not only features new characters such as Yelena Belova, Red Guardian and Taskmaster, but also seems to very secretly contain an X-Men character.
The character in question, Ursa Major, is played by none other than our very own ‘Dutch Giant’ Olivier Richters. We saw Richters in a scene where he pressed arm with David Harbours Alexei Shostakov. That didn’t end well, but it is very possible that we will see Ursa again.
Bear of a guy
In an Instagram post, the Dutch giant said that he is proud to have played Ursa. In the comics, Ursa (whose full name is Mikhail Uriokovitch Ursus) is a mutant who can turn into a giant bear. However, the longer he stays in bear form, the more he loses control of his human side.
Ursa served in the X universe in the so-called ‘Winter Guard’ and was also part of the Soviet Super-Soldiers team. Outside of the comics, Ursa appeared in animated series alongside Black Widow Avengers Assemble in anime-series Future Avengers.
Do you want to see Olivier Richters in future Marvel movies?
