However, the court confirmed that the donor “would have fathered 100 children in the Dutch clinics alone at the time, plus an unknown number in the private sphere and through a Danish clinic that sent his sperm to private addresses in several countries,” it noted. the AFP agency.

The court estimated that the man, who had been a donor since 2007, had “at least between 550 and 600 children” and considered “probable enough” that this had or could have negative psychosocial consequences for the children, regarding identity and fears. of incest.

“Therefore, it is in their interest that this kinship network does not spread further,” the District Court of The Hague said in a statement, which prohibited the man from “donating his sperm to future parents.”

The convicted person may be penalized to pay 100,000 euros ($110,000) if he violates the measure, while he is prohibited from communicating with future parents about his desire or willingness to give them sperm.
