Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Suzan & Freek and De Jeugd Van Today, among others, will organize a free online home festival on New Year’s Eve under the name Goodbye 2020.
The online party, in which the organizers of festivals such as Dance Valley, Milkshake and Vunzige Deuntjes participate, starts on December 31 at 4 p.m. and lasts until January 1 at 5 a.m.
The festival consists of about forty streams. The various stages, where music styles such as Dutch, trance, hip-hop and techno are discussed, are hosted by, among others, Snel, Broederl Liefde and Fedde Le Grand.
People who want to attend the online party can connect with other partygoers through Zoom and also have the option of creating a private room where they can talk to family or friends.
Goodbye 2020 was invented by Maarten Schulz of the online platform Follow the Beat. “With the increasing number of infections, I wondered how we can contribute in a positive and imaginative way with our platform and with the festival sector and motivate people to stay at home,” he explains. “This is how the idea arose to bring together as many artists, festivals and clubs online as possible.”
