Dustin Porrier Received UFC Award

The day before the fight with Dan Hooker, the former UFC interim lightweight champion, Dustin Porier, became the first ever Forrest Griffin Prize in the organization’s history, which will now be awarded to UFC fighters who have distinguished themselves for their social and charitable activities.

“The Forrest Griffin Prize will be awarded annually, and its winner will be personally selected by the president of UFC, Dana White,” reads the organization’s press release.

The President of the UFC, as well as a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, Forrest Griffin, also commented on the event.

“Dustin is a wonderful athlete, but more importantly, he is a wonderful person,” said the head of the organization. “This guy works hard to help those less fortunate in this life.”

“I am happy that people like him are in sports,” White Griffin supported. “He is a very good person who worthily represents our sport. Looking back, he can be proud of himself. It’s hard to find a better candidate to kick off the legacy of this award. ”

Recall that the lightweight fight between Dustin Porrier and Dan Hooker will be the main event of the UFC on ESPN 12 tournament, which will be held June 27 in Las Vegas.
