Samuel “Screech” Powers was an expert in science and biology, a clumsy, naive kid and best friend of Zack, the main character of the series. A little selfish, full of flaws, in love with Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) and never paid, despite everything, the character let himself be appreciated by all the protagonists, as he let himself be appreciated by the audience at home.

Dustin Diamond, born to a Jewish family in San Jose, California, began acting as a child. The son of a digital electronics teacher and operator for Pacific Bell, he immediately became known for his role as Samuel “Screech” Powers on the Bayside School show. Beyond that, Dustin Diamond’s career never really took off, unlike those of Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Elizabeth Berkley, who enjoyed great notoriety over the next decade.
