Dust Storm in Cairo: Impact on Visibility and Weather Patterns

03:44 PM Monday, September 11, 2023

Books – Ahmed Massad:

Dust recently dominated the sky of the city of Maadi in Cairo Governorate.

Masrawy Lens monitored the effect of dust in the air in the Maadi area, which resulted in a decrease in horizontal visibility.

The Meteorological Authority announced an hour ago that the latest satellite images indicate the presence of stirred sand in areas of the west of the country and the northwestern coasts (Siwa – Matrouh – Alamein – Alexandria).

This raised sand is accompanied by a decrease in horizontal visibility.

Meteorology expected that the raised sand would advance to affect areas of northern Upper Egypt, Lower Egypt, and Greater Cairo as time progresses.

Low and medium rain clouds also form over areas of the far west of the country, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, sometimes thundery.
