“Students are demanding their right to education” reads the press release of the “Back to Campus” initiative, which attempted to draw attention to itself on Saturday (April 24th) with a first event. After the venue was relocated, almost 200 participants came to the Reuter barracks, where the rally started.

Around 200 participants accepted the invitation from “Back on Campus”
Gender is not the order of the day at the “student initiative”, but the greeting on the meadow at the Reuter barracks was given by a student. She presented the new group, which is supposed to offer young people in North Rhine-Westphalia a platform to demand education. The organizers include the return to regular operations in the educational institutions without restrictions, the preservation of the sustainable economy and the plurality of opinions.

Some participants presented clear messages
The students evidently received support from the lateral thinker scene, as the same loudspeaker system was in use that provided the sound for the Saturday strollers from lateral thinking 211 – Düsseldorf. In addition to participants from the lateral thinker scene, posters were also presented that suggest a closeness. The first speaker to speak was Professor Max Otte, who began with an interpretation of the folk song “What we want to drink” before complaining about the lack of freedom of expression at universities and criticizing the alleged “Corona dictatorship”.

When the event was registered, the starting point was moved from the state parliament to the Reuter barracks. The OSD monitored compliance with the requirements.
After the public order office still had an eye on the distances and the mask requirement at the start of the meeting, these requirements were no longer taken so seriously by the participants at the start of the demonstration.

The questioning was evidently only required in one direction
The organizers announced that further events would soon be launched. Merchandising has also already started: white hoodies with the campaign logo are being offered on the Facebook page.
At their demonstration on Saturday (April 24th) about the visibility of lesbians and queers, around 40 participants confidently showed their message: Don’t submit to classic thought patterns and live diversity.
