All rifle clubs in the Düsseldorf district are organized in the interest group of Düsseldorf riflemen (IGDS). Traditionally at the end of the Sebastianer Schützenfest of 1316, the IGDS uses the fairground and the shooting ranges to determine the new city majesties there.
The citizen king of the IGDS was Horst Artz, honorary captain of the company Queen Stephanie of the Sebastianers from 1316

On Sunday afternoon (July 24th) several birds were killed. Horst Artz from the company of Queen Stephanie des Sebastianer von 1316 was the first to cheer, because he shot the Bürgervogel. The young shooters had a hard time at the neighboring shooting range because it took quite a long time for the bird to drop its head, wings and tail. Only then could the Jungschützenkönigsplatte be put on. But to increase the tension, the regiment kings of the IGDS clubs shot the king bird first.
Someone is happy about the shot that made the record of the IGDS’ young shooter king fall: Max Ax

At the same time, the two shooting ranges were all about the exciting question of whether there will be a young shooter king first or will the city shooter king be more certain? The youth won the race, because shortly after 7 p.m. it was Max Ax from the Paul Beneke Society of Werstener Schützen who first looked at the falling wooden plate almost in disbelief. He was the new city youth shooter king and was celebrated by his enthusiastic comrades.
The new Stadtschützenkönig couple comes from Unterrath: Steffi and Bodo Hentsch

Bodo Hentsch, king of the regiment in Unterrath, was still jubilant about the new majesty. With a well-aimed shot, he got the plate down and danced with joy at his success. He was immediately surrounded by the IGDS board and his predecessor – everyone wanted to congratulate him. His wife Steffi first had to pave the way, still completely stunned that there will be another royal year for her.
After three years, their term of office is now coming to an end: (from left) Andreas Palm and Brian Paul

After a round on the fairground, which was accompanied by music from the marching band Blau-Weiss from Garath, it was time to say goodbye to the royal couples Andras and Nicole Palm and Brian Paul with Jessica Möllenbrock, who have been in office since 2019. They handed in their insignia and the IGDS Board of Directors crowned Bodo Hentsch as the new City King and Max Ax as the City Young Shooting King.
The “old” majesties were crowned on stage and Max Ax and Bodo Hentsch were solemnly raised to their offices
