Dusan Tadic (35) has warm feelings about his time at Ajax. After Fenerbahce’s victory over FC Twente (5-1), the captain looked back on his period in Amsterdam, where he suddenly left this summer.
“Ajax remains one of the best clubs in Europe, but a lot has happened. They take time to build. But it is difficult to get time at Ajax,” said Tadic, who hopes that the policymakers in the Johan Cruijff Arena will get the time and be successful. “I cross my fingers”, he hopes for a good outcome for the team from Amsterdam.

After five years in Amsterdam, it is a bit of a switch for Tadic in Istanbul. “Do I miss Ajax? Naturally. Ajax is part of my life and I will keep Ajax in my heart forever.” When the reporter shows Ajax’s result at Ludogorets (1-4), a smile appears on the Serb’s face. “Nice. “It is difficult to compare Ajax with Fenerbahce,” Tadic continues. “I spent five years at Ajax, so it’s hard to compare. They’re both great clubs and I’m having a great time here. The mentality in Turkey is similar to that in Serbia,” said the Fenerbahce captain. “The fans are also incredible. The city is great. I am happy to be here.”
Tadic was also asked about FC Twente, where he also has a past. “That’s why I didn’t cheer after my goal, certainly not. FC Twente is one of the clubs where I played and had great years there. That will always be part of me.” With Fenerbahce he won 5-1 against the Tukkers, partly due to a penalty from Tadic.
