The incident happened after the sixteenth over of the Australian innings. KL Rahul stopped the game and was walking out of the ground. Later, the young player Ishan Kishan, who was not in the playing eleven, reached the ground and took over the duty of the wicketkeeper. But those watching the match did not understand the reason behind this. This move was a complete surprise to everyone. BCCI has also not clarified the reason for Rahul’s return till now.

At the same time, KL Rahul returned to the field in the twenty-ninth over of the Australian innings after 12 overs. Then he took over the wicket-keeping duty from Ishan Kishan.

Batting first for Australia, openers Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh gave a good start. The two attacked and added 68 runs in 10.5 overs. Head’s wicket was their first loss. He scored 33 runs off 31 balls. After captain Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh who scored 47 runs fell, Australia was 85/3.

Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner also failed to shine as expected and were dismissed for 28 and 23 runs respectively. Australia are 173/5 after 34 overs of the match.
