Over the weekend, when going outside Riga, you also have to take into account road construction works, which are already taking place on 117 road sections throughout the country. Latvian state roads warn that the departure of the repair section of the Saulkrasti bypass on the Tallinn highway (A1) may take less than an hour. We invite motorists to plan routes in time and take into account the extra time on the way. We also invite you to use electric trains, which are available in the direction of both Saulkrasti and Jūrmala, as far as possible.
Construction works will also continue on the Daugavpils highway (A6) in the section from the intersection with the Riga bypass A5 (Salaspils – Babīte) to Ikšķile. The speed limit in the work area is 70 km / h. One of the two lanes is alternately closed on the carriageway in the direction of Riga.
On the Jēkabpils – Ludza motorway (A12) from Greivuļi to Greiškāni near Rēzekne, there are five traffic light sections and a speed limit of 70 and 50 km / h. It may take half an hour to leave the stage.
On regional roads, the most temporary traffic lights are on the road Pūri – Auce – Grīvaiši (P96). There are a total of eight temporary traffic lights and an hour’s journey is required to complete all repairs. In turn, four sections of traffic lights are on the highway Ventspils – Kuldīga – Saldus (P108) in a 20-kilometer section, starting from Ventspils in the direction of Kuldīga, and it will take less than an hour.
