During the emergency situation, the course of government meetings will be changed – in Latvia

From next week, meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers in remote mode will be held twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays to better organize the work of the government during an emergency, the State Chancellery informed.

Extraordinary and Crisis Management Council joint meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers will take place on Tuesdays, and regular government meetings will take place on Thursdays.

So far, government meetings have taken place on Tuesdays, followed by a joint meeting of the government and the Crisis Management Council.

The new procedure will come into force next week – on Tuesday, December 8, at 10 a.m., a joint meeting of the government and the Crisis Management Council will take place, and on Thursday, December 10, at 12 p.m., a regular government meeting.

The State Chancellery noted that this year the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers is scheduled for December 17. However, following the epidemiological situation in Latvia, if necessary, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers may be convened at any time.

The first government meeting in 2021 is scheduled for January 5.

In accordance with the work rhythm of the government, the meetings of the State Secretaries, chaired by the Director of the State Chancellery Jānis Muudkovskis, are also adjusting – this year the last meeting of the State Secretaries will be on December 17, and next year the first meeting will be on January 7.
