JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT KAI allows its passengers to have Suhoor and break their fast in the car while traveling.
This policy has been in effect since the first day of Ramadan which falls on Tuesday (13/4/2021). KAI emphasized that entering the month of Ramadan, train operations are still normal according to health protocols established by the government.
“So far, there are no restrictions on the operating hours of the train. All trips are still in accordance with the schedule stated on the ticket,” said VP Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus, in his statement on Tuesday (13/4/2021).

Joni explained that during the month of Ramadan, KAI welcomes customers who want to have Suhoor and break their fast during long -distance train journeys.
Whereas for short-distance trains whose journeys are less than 2 hours, eating and drinking is allowed specifically for breaking the fast up to one hour afterwards.
For customers who want to buy food and drinks on long-distance trains, this service can be found on the Dining Car or through the flight attendants on duty.
To provide convenience, customers can pre-order their food and drinks through the KAI Access application on the Lokomart menu. Orders can also be made via WhatsApp at 0811 1061 2121.

Meanwhile, since April 6, 2021, long-distance train customers have received a Healthy Kit containing 1 KF94 mask and antiseptic tissue for each trip.
This provision is a form of service improvement so that customers feel safe and comfortable when using long-distance trains.
As a reminder, to meet the requirements for long-distance train rides, KAI provides a GeNose C19 inspection service for IDR 30,000 at 44 stations and an Antigen Rapid Test for IDR 85,000 at 42 stations.
“Train travel currently still refers to the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Circular No. 12 of 2021 and the Ministry of Transportation Circular No. 27 of 2021,” said Joni.

Until now, KAI has only served Long Distance Train ticket sales until April 30, 2021.
As for the departure in May, KAI is still waiting for further directions from the government regarding the details of the rail transportation mode arrangement.
Joni emphasized that KAI fully supports government policies related to regulating transportation modes during homecoming. KAI is committed to supporting the government in breaking the chain of spreading Covid-19 in Indonesia.
