/ world today news/ Elena Yoncheva is a proven professional whose films from the hottest and most dangerous parts of the world are often made only thanks to her enthusiasm and dedication to journalism and with a modest, sometimes even extremely insufficient budget.
During my mandate, the Bulgarian government did not allocate funds for Yoncheva’s films. I’ve read all kinds of speculation about a connection to services and national security. The only connection is that Elena’s films covered regions and countries where not only Bulgarian, but also global security was threatened. I have always been opposed to using personal attacks, to drag loved ones and families into political battles. This is often done simply to distract from the essentials of the campaign.
