Durek Verrett, Märtha Louise | See and Hear experiences: Durek Verret suffers from severe kidney disease

The princess’ girlfriend needs dialysis treatment several times a week, Se og Hør claims.

Friday writes See and listen that Princess Märtha Louise (50)’s girlfriend, the American, self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett (47), allegedly needs dialysis treatment three to five times a week due to what is supposed to be serious kidney disease.

– Durek must have dialysis several times every single week, and thus can not travel far. That is the reason why Märtha has traveled across the Atlantic every time the couple has met each other lately, claims the weekly magazine’s sources in the current case.

Ukebladet also writes that Verrett has on several occasions been observed on his way to and from the DaVita Dialysis Center in Santa Monica – not far from Beverly Hills where he lives.

See and Hear has met Verrett in Los Angeles, but he did not want to comment. He has also not talked about the disease himself or confirmed that he is going for treatment.

Had to get a kidney transplant

Verrett has previously suffered from kidney disease. From 2004 to 2012, he went on dialysis due to kidney failure.

In 2012, he received a kidney from his older sister, and even though the operation zone itself was covered by the public sector, they needed money for the extra costs that arose in connection with the period of illness and the rehabilitation of Verrett and the older sister.

The year before the transplant was performed, Verrett’s ex, Hank Greenberg, started a fundraiser.

“Seven years ago, Durek Verrett was diagnosed with an incurable kidney failure. His heart stopped beating. One doctor declared him dead, but another refused to give up and attempted resuscitation. It was a success, for several months after the operation Durek was in an artificial coma. When he woke up, he could not walk for a year », wrote the then girlfriend on a fundraising website, where he described the story of Verrett.

“But it’s good news. Angelina Verrett, Durek’s sister, will donate a kidney to him. In order for Durek and Angelina to carry out the operation at UCLA, we must raise enough funds. We humbly ask if people want to donate to this cause.

Collected $ 25,000

According to the fundraising site, 214 people donated money to the case which went under the name “Help Durek Verrett with a kidney transplant”. A total of 25,225 dollars was received, which is equivalent to just under 200,000 Norwegian kroner.

In a video on Youtube, published on September 30, 2012, both Verrett and his sister thanked for all the support they had received. In the video, they also talked about what they thought before the big kidney transplant – which was to take place in the beginning of October.

– The spirits told me that if you do not want to die, you do not have to do it. It is your choice. If you have enough things here that you really want to be here for, you will fight. Then people can overcome things that are really impossible to win over, was among what Verrett said in the video that has now been deleted.
