Märtha Louise also told on Instagram about the interview she gave to Vanity Fair together with Durek Verrett. “We had to wait a long time for this. We already gave the interview in the summer of 2019,” said the daughter of King Harald.
Durek confesses in the interview that he and Martha Louise would like to get married. He asked the royal couple for permission last Christmas, just before the suicide of Märtha Louise’s first husband Ari Behn became known. According to Durek, they said yes “after asking him about his career options.” The interviewer saw the ring, but promised not to write about it further. “But needless to say it is fit for a princess and refers to her country and family.”
The corona crisis further frustrated the plan. In March, a few days before the Norwegian lockdown, Märtha Louise and her daughters paid a lightning visit to Durek in America, after which they did not see each other for six months. In September he surprised her in turn by flying via Amsterdam to Oslo for her birthday. They spent them together in quarantine.
