DUOL – They covered the 30 kilometer distance without any serious accidents

This was already the 37th bike tour

After serious preparations, the field of the 37th Bicycle Tour started on Saturday morning from Városháza tér. Single-track drivers know that two-wheelers need some care after the winter break. Tamás Orosz provided assistance from 8 a.m. with the support of Decathlon and the Aqarius Bicycle Store. Anyone who requested it had the opportunity to have minor repairs done on the bikes with him. Registration also started at 8:00 a.m., which also had stakes, as the first 500 registrants received a free travel package from the organizers. Not long after, at 8:10 a.m., Zsófi Délczeg gave a Zumba demonstration, and before the start, Ágnes Sólyomvári helped with the joint warm-up, so that at 9 a.m. the field could leave for Mezőfalvá with warmed-up muscles to complete the round-trip distance of 35 kilometers. The construction on Kandó Kálmán tér caused a serious headache for the organizers, and in the end they decided to dismount the bicycles at the roundabout under construction, so the participants pushed the bicycles on this section. On the way back, the organizers were more lenient, the returnees slowly trickled through the said section.

At the translator, Gabitrial held an extreme bicycle trial presentation

The usual rest in the green area at the translator’s in Rákóczi utca, the extreme bikers from Debrecen and Nyíregyháza, i.e. the Gabitrial extreme bike trial, held a demonstration. The team made up of Gábor Nagy, Péter Tóth (Hungarian champion) and Viktor Feteke showed almost circus stunts, for example they teased a flaming rope over the two-wheeler. The fastest reached the rest area in Mezőfalv in 25-30 minutes, the majority of the field completed the half-distance in 50-60 minutes. Refreshed after the break, the participants took the obstacle more easily. The cyclists who ended the bike tour reached the finish line at Városháza tér at 12:18 p.m., which did not end the program.

The youngest participant was 2 years old, the oldest was 77 years old

After returning, you could go to Zsuzsi Dóczi’s gymstick presentation for a debriefing, or snack on fatty bread, apples, and refresh yourself with mineral water, which was available to all participants. A birthday party also took place on the square, as Eliza Lőrincz, who was just 7 years old, was greeted on stage with a cake and a song. Valuable prizes were won in the raffle. Two bikes were raffled thanks to the Aquarius and Magellan bike shops, and Decathlon also offered prizes for the raffle. This year, the youngest participant was Áron Oláh, born in 2021, and the oldest participant was 77-year-old Tiborné Kovács, who participates in the event every year. They received a HUF 100,000 purchase voucher from Mayor Tamás Pintér. In addition to the police from Dunaújváros, the civil guards from Dunaújváros, Nagyvenyim and Mezőfalv helped ensure the undisturbedness and safety of the entire event. Of course, the ambulance service was also on standby, but luckily they didn’t have anything serious to do.
