One of the most spectacular tasks of the Dunaújváros Economic Welfare Organization is the autumn litter collection. Defoliation of the city’s one and a half million square meter area will cost nearly eighty million forints. Deputy mayor for city operations Zsolt Mezei informed on the municipality’s website that every year they spend on their machine park, buy new ones, and refurbish them. During a season, they go around the city at least five times. The system is now structured in such a way that leaves are collected in open areas with four machines, and DHHF employees manually clean the sidewalks and parks. Community letter collection is also planned this year, several times and in several places.
