Duo student who embezzled iPhones and Macbooks worth hundreds of millions was arrested. It was also revealed how and their motives embezzled this Apple product.
As is known, initially the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya arrested a female student in connection with illegal access to expedition services in the marketplace. The perpetrators were found to have embezzled 28 electronic items, from iPhones to Macbooks worth IDR 337 million.
This case was revealed from the report LP/B/2979/V/2023/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated 29 May 2023. The police also investigated the case and arrested a student named Anggi (20) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
“The crime scene for the arrest of Soekarno Hatta Airport,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation Unit for Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Tuesday (22/8/2023).

During the action, Anggi claimed to be an employee of a company. At that time, Anggi asked for a sales receipt from the shipping company.
“The suspect admitted to being an employee of PT. Erajaya (merchant on the online marketplace), then asked for a receipt report on the sale of mobile phones to the receipt operator at the shipping company,” he said.
Armed with the receipt, Anggi sent an online motorcycle taxi under the pretext of being ordered by the owner of the electronic item to collect the item. Anggi also managed to embezzle as many as 28 electronic items, consisting of iPhone 14 Pro to Macbook.
“By showing the delivery receipt obtained from persuasion to the receipt operator, the suspect managed to get these items (28 items consisting of iPhone 14 Pro, MacBook and Ipad) worth IDR 337,458,000,” he explained.
“As a result of the crime committed by the suspect, the online shopping package did not reach the buyer and the shipping company had to bear the loss,” he added.
