The Dutch branch of Dunkin’ Donuts has gone bankrupt. The approximately fifty stores will remain open for the time being.
That reports The Telegraph. The reason for the bankruptcy is unknown. Dunkin’ also opened branches in the Netherlands in the 1990s, but they all closed in 2000. The chain made a return in 2017.
According to De Telegraaf, the chain itself filed for bankruptcy. A restart is still being considered. The webshop is still online, but the curator cannot guarantee that orders will be delivered.
Earlier this year, Dunkin’ introduced a coffee subscription in the Netherlands and Belgium, where customers could order up to three drinks per day for a fixed amount.
