Thinking about visiting Korea for the first time to promote the movie ‘Dune: Part 2’
Actor Timothee Chalamet is discussing visiting Korea. Chalamet is considering coming to Korea to promote ‘Dune: Part 2’ ahead of its release later this month, she said. If Chalamet comes to Korea, it will be her first event in the country.
An official from ‘Dune: Part 2’ said on the 2nd, “It is true that discussions are underway,” and added, “The actor has not made a final decision yet. “It appears that a decision will be made next week.” Previously, last December, director Denis Villeneuve, who directed this series, came to Korea and did some early publicity.
This work is the sequel to ‘Dune’, which came out in 2021. It is a film adaptation of the 1965 science fiction novel of the same name by American author Frank Herbert, and depicts the process of Paul Atreides, the prince of the Atreides family, becoming a revolutionary and leader. Chalamet played Paul, following the previous work, and Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Lea Seydoux, and Austin Butler also appeared.
The year after its release, ‘Dune’ was nominated in 10 categories at the Academy Awards and received awards in 6 categories, including visual, art, sound, music, cinematography, and editing, and was recognized for its perfection. It was also a box office success, recording sales of $400 million worldwide.
‘Dune: Part 2’ is scheduled to be released in Korea on February 28th.
