The test of the pudding is to eat it, and if it is tasty, turnips can be added. After last year’s successful event, Dunakeszi is joining the European Mobility Week program again this year. The motto of the 2024 event is: “The place belongs to us all”, with which we are invited to decide together how we use our public spaces and ensure that everyone – especially pedestrians and cyclists – can move around in pleasant surroundings, safely and comfortably.
The aim of the Municipality of Dunakeszi is to draw attention to the fact that, in addition to continuous traffic improvements, morning traffic jams in the city can be significantly reduced if we choose another form of transport instead of a car (public transport, bicycle, scooter, skateboard, walking, segway, etc.).
Dunakeszi transition week programs:
- Between September 16 and 20, pre-school children, primary and secondary school pupils can participate in a prize game to collect stamps. For this, the children must come to the centers by bicycle, scooter, foot, public transport or any other means of transport on the 5 days during the program, where they will receive a stamp of the day in the booklet stamp collection, and then the finished booklet at the entrance of the kindergartens and schools thrown in a collection box. At the end of September, there will be a raffle where the main prize will be a bicycle according to the size of the winning child.
- Bike parade on September 20 starting at 07:00 at IV. From the main square of King Béla. The destination is Katonadomb. Anyone can enter the parade, participation in the stamp collection is not a condition. Let’s be as much as possible to draw attention to the reduction of car traffic!
- And the participants of the march are waiting for a bike breakfast on 09.20 at 07:30 at Katonadomb, where the organizers will also stamp and the collection point collection booklet can also be included here.
