Dunaföldvár also had festive fireworks on August 20

The intimate celebration was made more complete by the songs and poems performed by the scouts. In his speech, Mayor Zsolt Horváth reminded us of the fateful importance of the foundation of the state and the difficult trials of the centuries that followed.

– Our nation is still alive after the storms of the eras, we have preserved our country. This is a message to the Hungarians of today and the future

never give up on your plans, think and follow the planned paths!

The new bread was consecrated by Oszkár Szabó, the parish priest of the town, and the mayor undertook to slice it. Before this, he drew attention to the fact that

Let us also remember with gratitude those who put in a lot of hard, careful and understanding work so that the grain that forms the basis of bread is grown, flour is made from it, and then bakers and other experts can use it to prepare our everyday bread!

After that, the state and civil organizations of the city placed their wreaths on the memorial wall of the Saint Stephen statue.

There is no better word for it, the visitors were awaited with a real festival venue. The professional caterers and stage builders were also prepared for the visitors. The most recent were the participants of the traditional fish juice cooking competition, who started their work early in the morning. Even the smell of the delicacies promised many delicacies.

About the fish soup competition

We also heard this from the president of the jury, Erika Baksay.

– I am a dedicated judge who finds delicious snacks not only at this time. I’m a real cook and eater. (if you don’t believe what I’m saying, take a closer look!) I’m not working on this traditional competition for the first time. Last year’s wasn’t bad either, but this year’s chefs brought in excellent dishes. The creators worked to a very convincing high standard, without outstanding character preparations. Therefore, I can say that if they had put any of them on our table when we entered a restaurant, we would have thanked them with satisfaction.

Specials?

“Fortunately, we haven’t tasted anything like that, but I don’t want to either.” I’ve had luck other times with different sour cream, vinegar or smoked ones, but it’s better to forget. I think fish soup should taste like fish. Pleasantly seasoned with a few old-fashioned things.

Was there a warning or complaint?

– Luckily no. We didn’t know whose sample we were tasting, so we couldn’t be accused of partiality. The order was like this. 1st Miklós Virág 2nd Gyula Joó 3rd Mihály Koleszár. Anyone who couldn’t taste any of their dishes will be sorry.

On the Stefánia stationary ship

József Süveges, the president of the Dunaföldvár Water Sports Circle Association, welcomed many guests on this day.

– True to our custom, we received guests from all over the country today. Today’s guest protagonists were the members of the Kiskőrösi Dutra Friends Circle, who arrived in large numbers, and who also set up a small exhibition in our park. I think I can safely say that this time we surprised our friends with a serious gastronomic profile. We relied on traditions, with lowland mutton stew, real Dunaföldvár fish soup made from game fish, and deep-fried slices with potatoes and salad made according to grandmothers’ recipe. We had a lot of life on the water throughout the day. Our festive parade started at noon. At the same time, we remembered our departed shipmates by throwing a wreath into the water. Father István Simon blessed the ships arriving in front of our wharf.

This is a natural process in the life of Viktor Jákli, the leader of the Dunaföldvár volunteers of the Hungarian Maltese Charity.

– In addition to a group from Pécs, our guests also came from several other parts of the country. A special pilgrim brother from Baracs also came from nearby, who arrived with a boat, and according to his plan, he is going to soak the interested people in a boat. Then we brought our own children. About ninety of us came together. We were accommodated in a joint tent with the Friends of the Garden, with whom we are good friends. I am also a gardener, and my mother is one of the founding members of the association. Our excellent fish soup was cooked by Mrázné Pál Szabó, and they left it to me to stir the cottage cheese. This is a very humane task for a cauldron quantity, but I was happy to do it.

And the Garden Friends?

Tamás Liptás, their president, appeared at the wreath laying with a large group. They strengthened their association for that day with garden lovers from Martonvásár and Tordas. They were not “just” seated at the same table, but also visited the town’s Landscape House and the Castle Museum. After tasting the fish soup and delicious Földvár wines, it became relevant to visit a real production site. Therefore, their journey led them to István Dukai, the vineyard of the Grand Master of the Szent Rókus Order of Wine Knights. We are not exaggerating when we talk about their satisfaction…

The afternoon and evening program?

Such fun, especially in scorching heat, is unthinkable without a well-groomed foam party. Here, they practically put it under the shade of the trees, so it became more bearable.

The most inventive performer this afternoon was Gergő Oláh, who conjured up a parade show team from the edgy spectators. We saw the Löfan cheerleading group and deservedly won with a standing ovation. Bálint Gájer targeted the broadest age group of audiences – with success. The success of the helicopter presentation was also remarkable. His professional production of Kelemen Kabát was well received by everyone. The fireworks: it was a real encore at the end of the day.
