Adrien Dumont de Chassart and Giovanni Tadiotto, great hopes of Belgian golf, largely contributed to the victory of the Illinois university team in the “Big Ten Championship” which was contested on the very difficult course of the Crooked Stick (par 72), Indiana. Illinois ended the tournament a little ahead of Iowa after an incredible amount of suspense.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart showed great consistency throughout the three days of competition, returning cards of 73, 71 and 74. The Villersois finished second in the individual standings.
After a complicated first round (83), Giovanni Tadiotto ramped up to finish with scores of 76 and 71.
After this sixth consecutive title in Conference, the team of Illinois, coached by Mike Small, now has its eyes on the NCAA Regionals of the varsity championship which will begin on May 17. This is the essential step to qualify for the NCAA National Championship, the season finale, which will begin on May 28 in Scottsdale.
Like Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry before them, Adrien Dumont de Chassart and Giovanni Tadiotto successfully combine university studies and high-level golf in the United States.
