Dulquer Salmaan: From Mammootty’s Son to Pan-Indian Star

Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most valuable actors in Malayalam cinema. From being Mammootty’s son, the actor has grown into a pan-Indian star. The actor is shining with brilliant successes in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Dulquer, who made his debut eleven years ago with the film Second Show, has now found his place as a producer, singer and distributor at the pan-Indian level.

Dulquer Pan is growing as an Indian star with films like Seetharamam and Chhup released last year. The actor also acquired many fans through these films. Dulquer achieved the stardom he enjoys today on his own, even though he entered the film industry under the label of Megastar Mammootty’s son. Dulquer Salmaan is one of the actors with the highest market value in Indian cinema, where language boundaries have started to fade.

It is also noteworthy that Mammootty’s role in this growth of Dulquer is very small. Mammootty has started promoting Dulquer’s films recently. But that is something that is only limited to social media. Mammootty cannot be seen talking about his son even in public. Now Tamil actor Charlie has shared his experience when he told Mammootty that Dulquer Salmaan acted well in Ustad Hotel.

He says that when he told Dulquer that he had acted well in Ustad Hotel, Mammootty asked if he had seen any of my films. Charlie also said that he has known Dulquer and Fahad Fazil since they were children. In an interview given to Kaumudi Movies, he shared his experiences of working with directors and actors in Malayalam cinema.

“I knew Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil well when they were kids. But I haven’t seen them since they both became heroes. I talk to Mammootty on the phone every now and then. I am a big fan of Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Once I was talking to Mammootty and I had said that Dulquer Salmaan had done a good job in Ustad Hotel. He asked back that he did not see any of my pictures. I told him I saw Rozhak. Roshak was a very good movie. Kettyol is my angel is the film of that filmmaker. But these two were completely different.

If the creator gives space to the actor, the actor can prove his talent. Creators are trying to create a new world. An example of this is the lion of the Arabian Sea. “The audience is ready to accept such experiments from Malayalam filmmakers,” said Charlie.

Charlie’s last Malayalam film was Bro Daddy directed by Prithviraj. He also shared that experience. He said that working with Laleton was the happiest thing. Just seeing Chumma acting as Lalettan is enough. He is an actor who impresses everyone. Charlie added that he can enjoy every moment with Lalettan as an actor.
