Dulquer Salmaan Considered to Play Oommen Chandy in Biopic, Manoj Kumar Urges Mammootty and Dulquer to Take Up the Project

Serial-movie star Manoj Kumar has shared his desire to make the life story of late former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy into a film and Dulquer Salmaan as the lead in it. Manoj says that when he saw the movie ‘Salala Mobile’, he felt how it would be if Dulquer Salmaan acted as Oommen Chandy. Manoj says that the story that comes to his mind is when Mammootty comes to the film and shares his childhood memories with Oommen Chandy and then Dulquer Salmaan appears in the film as a popular hero named Oommen Chandy. Manoj says that if Pan Indian hero Dulquer brings the life story of a political leader who was crucified a lot in his life without showing anything but serving the people, it will become a movie that will be noticed all over the world and filmmakers, Mammootty and Dulquer should take up his request. Manoj Kumar also shows a graphic image in the video where Dulquer Salmaan is transformed into Oommen Chandy.

“This morning I was watching TV and drinking tea. There was a movie on TV called Salala Mobiles. I also acted in the film. When I saw Dulquer in the movie, an instant spark came to my mind. Oommen Chandy sir’s biography is becoming a movie. The biographies of many great people have been made into movies. Similarly, if the biopic of Oommenchandy sir becomes a movie, it will be a big event. He is so loved by Malayalam. It would be cool if Dulquer plays Oommen Chandy as Sara because Dulquer bears a resemblance to him.

Dulquer’s face makeover can quickly make Oommen Chandy Sir. He is a man who has gone through many hardships and experiences. I believe his life story is capable of being made into a movie. His sixty years of political career and eighty years of life are not a life that can be contained in a film. But it can be made into a movie story. This is not something that we can do, if the talented directors of Malayalam cinema think it can be done. This will probably become a Pan Indian movie.

Because Dulquer is also a pan Indian actor. The film starts from Oommen Chandy’s grave, where people come and light candles, and Mammooka comes to the grave as Mammooka. Dulquer is the hero in the movie not Mammookka. If it is made into a movie, Mammootty’s company and Dulquer’s company will make the movie together and I want that too. It will be the biggest big budget movie Malayalam cinema has ever seen. I am remembering the things Mammooka says on screen after offering flowers at the grave, the birth, childhood and adolescence of Oommen Chandy sir in Pudupally, till he comes into politics, Mammooka says good things and Dulquer comes in the movie after he comes into politics.

Wouldn’t that be a good idea, wouldn’t it be fun? This was thrilling for me. If a movie of a popular hero is to be made in India, the most suitable person would be Oommen Chandy sir and it should be done by Dulquer. Here I am showing the film where Dulquer was transformed into Oommen Chandy Sir. Is there anything wrong after seeing this, how correct is it? This is done by Praveen who manages my YouTube. Oommen Chandy sir has a body and a face. He won’t have much trouble doing this for the acting talent that is Dulquer.

It will be the most challenging role in his acting career. Dulquer will overcome that challenge with ease as the young man has such acting skills. Mammooka said about him that ‘Oommen Chandy is a genius who made the ordinary extraordinary’. I want a film like this to come out. This will be the greatest honor the Malayalam cinema world can give to Jananayakan. If this film is made, it will be the biggest success Indian cinema has ever seen. All the pain he went through can be reflected in this film. I believe that the Malayalam film industry will pay attention to this, especially the most beloved Mammooka and Dulquer should take this wish of mine. Let it be true, let it be a festival,” says Manoj.
