The Czech hockey striker Josef Mikyska ended up in the HK Dukla Trenčín club after a mutual agreement and will continue his career in Germany. The Trenčín Club informed about it on the official website.
In Trenčín’s jersey, Mikyska played the prematurely ended 2019/2020 season, in which he was the team’s most productive player with 55 points in 53 matches. After a successful year, he returned to the Czech extra league, in which he subsequently wore the Vítkovíc jersey and also played in Great Britain during the season. In the summer of 2021, he agreed with the management of the Trenčín club on an annual contract, but it will not be fulfilled in the end.
After 25 matches of the current 2021/2022 season, he had 19 points (5 + 14) and was again the productivity leader in the Dukla team.
“I think both parties, Josef and I, have been expecting more since this season. I considered him the leader of the team and with that we went for it, but his performance in matches was unstable and fluctuating. Changes had to come and even after an agreement with the new head coach, we started to do so.
I was in contact with ‘Mikeš’, he got a good offer from Germany, which suited him. Hockey is a sport and with it such decisions come. I believe that change will benefit both parties. We are working on change and strengthening our staff, ” said the sports manager of Dukla in Trenčín Branko Radivojevič for the club page.
