Video footage of the fuselage of the Air India airline stuck under a pedestrian bridge has gone viral on social media. How’s the story?
Quoted from Cartoq, the strange incident occurred on the Delhi-Gurugram Highway near Delhi airport. A trailer truck carrying an Air India airline is stuck under the Delhi People’s Bridge.
Seen there are only parts of the body of the aircraft while the wings and engines are no longer installed. Seen the fuselage was stuck, while the muzzle and part of the fuselage stuck under the bridge.
Air India has confirmed that there were no casualties from the incident. The fuselage stuck under the pedestrian bridge is an old plane that has been sold by Air India and is being transported by the new owner.
An Air India spokesman said they had no additional information about the incident as the plane now belongs to someone else and they were not involved in the transportation.
“This is an old used aircraft that we have sold. There is no additional information, as it involves the person who has sold it,” an Air India spokesman said.
The fuselage is mounted on the trailer. It is suspected that the truck driver was unable to measure the height of the bridge and ended up stuck.
“The plane clearly does not belong to the Delhi airport fleet and in the video, it is being transported without wings. It appears the plane was damaged and the driver may have made an error assessment while transporting it,” Delhi airport official said.
It says an old plane in India is being turned into a themed restaurant to attract customers.
