Elon Musk’s company has officially penetrated Thailand. Tesla Company (Thailand) Ltd has been registered as a new company in Thailand. The initial investment value is said to be around 3 million baht or Rp 1.2 trillion.
Taken from The Thaiger, this information was obtained from the website of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce Thailand. Tesla has been officially registered as a company since Wednesday (25/5/2022).
Tesla penetrated the Thai market. Its main goal is to sell electric vehicles. The manufacturer from the United States will also install an energy storage system (ESS) sector system or energy storage system.
The appendix does not state that Tesla will produce or assemble electric cars.
Several high-ranking officials from the Tesla company for representation in Thailand were also mentioned, first, David Jon Feinsten as Global Senior Director-Trade Market Access, who was appointed as director of Tesla India in January 2021.
Second, Vaibhav Taneja, who serves as Chief Accounting Officer, was also appointed as director of Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Ltd in January 2021. Lastly, Yaron Klein holds the position of Tesla Asset Manager and is also Chief Financial Officer of Tesla Energy Operations.
Tesla’s arrival in Thailand is in line with the government’s policy there to encourage the use of electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. In March, the Thai government approved a 3 billion baht budget to subsidize the price of electric vehicles for customers in Thailand. The government will also reduce income tax on electric vehicles.
Tesla’s investment in Indonesia is still in progress
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan reminded Elon Musk’s company investment in Indonesia is still in the process. Previously, Tesla was said to be setting up a factory in the Batang area, Central Java.
