Competing at Anfield on Wednesday (20/4/2022) early in the morning, MU had conceded a goal when the game had only lasted five minutes. New signing Luis Diaz beat David de Gea’s guard to open Liverpool’s lead 1-0.
Maguire’s positioning on the goal was highlighted. Maguire came out of the Red Devils defensive line with the intention of closing Sadio Mane’s space. Sadly, Maguire not close enough to the opposing players so that Mane can freely send a pass to Mohamed Salah.
Furthermore, MU’s defense only leaves two players who have to deal with three offensive players the Reds. Salah then thrust the ball horizontally to Diaz who easily slotted the ball into the net.

In a Liverpool attack situation, Diogo Jota from the left flank released a low pass. Maguire actually moved forward from his position so that he failed to create an offside trap. Salah successfully received Jota’s pass then finished with a chipped shot that outwitted De Gea.
As a result, pressure on Harry Maguire getting bigger after making a series of errors throughout this season. Maguire is considered to have failed to live up to expectations after signing from Leicester City for 80 million pounds in the summer of 2019.
