Duh, Conte just realized that Tottenham are not buying star players

Jakarta

Antonio Conte talk about transfer activities Tottenham Hotspur last month. He just realized that his desire to build a team quickly was not in accordance with the club’s transfer policy.

“What happened in January was not easy. We lost four players. Four important players for Tottenham and we only brought in two players,” Conte said, quoted by the BBC.

“So in terms of numbers, instead of strengthening the team, we on paper have weakened.”

Dele Alli was released to Everton, while Bryan Gil was loaned to Valencia despite only arriving last summer from Sevilla with an option to trade with Erik Lamela.

Then Giovani Lo Celso went to Villarreal, while Tanguy Ndombele was loaned to Lyon. Instead, Spurs brought in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus.

So far, the addition of players has not shown satisfactory results. After being unbeaten in nine Premier League games, now Tottenham lost three times in a row. The current team still needs to be polished Conte.

Unfortunately again, Conte now realizes that the project being run by Tottenham is not buying finished players, but looking for potential young talents. With such conditions, the Spurs need time to compete.

This situation is definitely different compared to when Conte coached Juventus, Chelsea or Inter Milan. If you have to build the team slowly, it is not impossible that Conte will lose a star like Harry Kane who can’t wait to win a trophy.

“Bentancur and Kulusevski are ideal prospects for Tottenham, because this team is looking for young players who can be developed, not finished players. This is the problem,” continued Conte.

“This is the vision and philosophy of the club at the moment. It is undeniable that if we want to develop quickly and be competitive soon, we need experienced players, because they also raise the level of the team as a whole.”

“But I repeat, I realize now that this is our team’s vision.” Conte.
