Duels between Together! and Nupes in eight of the twelve constituencies

Like the national situation, it is the Nupes which comes to challenge the presidential majority in Gironde. In a press release, the Gironde federation of the Socialist Party “welcomes the qualification of the Nupes candidates in 9 constituencies in Gironde out of 12” when 11 of the 12 candidates of the presidential majority will be present in the second round.

The 5th in the sights

It is the 5th district of the Médoc which escapes Together! from the first round, with the ousting of Karine Nouette-Gaulin. “Unfortunately, she bears the brunt of the confusion caused by the candidacy of the outgoing deputy (Benoît Simian)”, estimates Aziz Skalli, referent for the Republic on the move in Gironde. This constituency will be watched closely on the evening of the second round since if Together! faces the RN in three constituencies (the 8th, 10th and 11th), it was Olivier Maneiro (Nupes) who qualified against the RN candidate who came first.

Where the RN is present, the socialist federation of Gironde “calls on all left-wing voters to block the far right and denounces the “case by case” announced by Together! breaking with the republican front”. The referent of LREM defends himself from any ambiguity, calling “to block everywhere the candidates of the National Rally in the four constituencies where they are qualified”.

If it is confirmed in the two constituencies where left-wing deputies were already elected (the 3rd and the 4th), the Nupes also comes first in the 2nd constituency (Bordeaux center) and in the 12th with the arrival at the head of Mathilde Feld with 26.94%, followed closely by the candidate Together! Pascal Lavergne who achieves a score of 24.58%.
