VSAA has warned the residents of Latvia about the possible risk that, due to one mistake, you may end up with an empty account in an instant. This is an extremely serious concern that requires utmost vigilance on the part of any citizen. The agency serves as an information center and offers services on behalf of various legal entities or individuals. In addition, it functions as a single unit in which a collective of agents work together harmoniously.

There are some basic tasks and precautions people can take to avoid today’s scammers:

Learn about the types of fraud: It is important to be aware of the current methods of bank fraud. Read the news and other sources of information to learn about the latest questionable ways people may try to defraud you of your financial information.

Keep your data confidential: Do not disclose important information, such as passwords or credit card details, to unknown people or questionable places. Banks or other trusted institutions will never ask for your password or other confidential data by email or phone.

Activate two-factor authentication (2FA): Some banks offer two-factor authentication, where additional confirmation (such as a text message or app-generated code) is required to access the account. This can provide additional security.

Check your account and statements regularly: Check your bank statements and transactions regularly to quickly spot any irregular or suspicious activity. If you find anything suspicious, contact your bank immediately.
