In Vidzgiri, the reconstruction works of Sudvajų Street continue, which may cause drivers to choose another route. Street repair consists of three stages. The Likiškieli-Sudvai roundabout was the first to be installed.
UAB “Gilmera”, which implements the project, continues the work of the second and third stages. A roundabout has been installed on Kepyklos-Sudvajų Street, a new layer of asphalt will be laid, and a pedestrian and bicycle path will be built on one side of the street.
Technical indicators of the project:
– the length of the street and pedestrian bicycle path – 0.92 km;
– number of traffic lanes – 2 of 3.5 m each;
– the width of the pedestrian and bicycle path – 2.5 m.
Road workers have already started work. Traffic has been restricted in the section from the intersection of Topolių street to Likiškėlių ring. It is true that road workers will restrict traffic from 9 am to 3 pm, because this street is extremely busy during peak hours. The Traffic Safety Commission issued the permit for traffic restrictions until March 4. No other decisions regarding street closures or traffic restrictions have been made at this time. Reconstruction works on Sudvajų Street are planned to be completed by August 31 of this year. The works of the second and third stages will cost 1,788 thousand. euros.
